Census 2011

On the 11 December, phase one of the second release from the 2011 Census was published on the NINIS wesbite and included 45 Key Statistics tables for Northern Ireland at Local Government Districts (LGD), Health and Social Care Trust (HSCT), Education and Library Board level (ELB) and European Union Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics (NUTS level III).

Datasets include:

Ethnic Group: KS201NI (administrative geographies)
Qualifications and Students: KS501NI (administrative geographies)
Economic Activity: KS601NI (administrative geographies)

An additional 9 interactive maps were added to the Census 2011 theme, and include:

Religion or Religion Brought Up In KS212NI
National Identity (Classification 2): KS203NI
Car or Van Availability: KS405NI

Baby Names in Northern Ireland

The top 20 boys' and girls' names registered so far in 2012 have been published today. The most popular boy's name is Jack, with Sophie topping the girls' list.

NINIS Website Workshops

The NINIS team will be holding more training workshops in the new year for those interested in learning more about the features of the website. All workshops will be held in McAuley House.

The dates for the workshops are:

  • Tuesday 22nd January - 10AM
  • Tuesday 26th February - 10AM and 2PM
  • Tuesday 12th March - 10AM and 2PM
