Population and Migration Estimates

2012 Population and Migration Estimates Northern Ireland released.

The Population and Migration Estimates Northern Ireland (2012) - Statistical Report was published on Wednesday 26 June 2013 on the NISRA website.

The Northern Ireland 2012 mid-year population is estimated to be 1.824 million people. The report includes 2012 mid-year estimates at LGD level and revised LGD estimates for 2001-2011. A population pyramid and interactive map are available on NINIS, and the following datasets have been updated with the new figures:

Age-Friendly Belfast

Age Friendly Belfast

A new ‘Age-Friendly Belfast’ area profile was launched on NINIS on 19 June 2013.

The Age-friendly Belfast profile provides key statistics on the age-friendliness of Belfast Local Government District (LGD). An Age-friendly City is an inclusive and accessible urban environment that promotes active ageing. It provides an exciting opportunity to promote a positive picture of ageing and the diversity of active citizenship in the City. To access the profile, search for a Belfast postcode and click on the Age-friendly Belfast tab. Alternatively, you can enter a street, area or 'Belfast' in the search box, select the LGD option from the search results and click on the Age-friendly Belfast tab.

Census 2011

Census 2011 Detailed Characteristics for Northern Ireland to be released.

Phase 2 of Census 2011 Detailed Characteristics for Northern Ireland to be released at 9.30am on 28 June 2013. This second phase of the publication will consist of a set of approximately 70 tables at the Northern Ireland level that focus on Ethnicity, Country of Birth and Language.

New/Latest Year Data

In June, 16 datasets were updated with latest year data including:

14 Brand new datasets were also added to NINIS in June including Deaths by Cause 2012: Provisional.

New Health Survey datasets were also added to NINIS under the Health and Social Care theme. The Health Survey Northern Ireland covers a range of health topics that are important to the lives of people in Northern Ireland today. Six new Health Survey datasets were added:
