Census Population Estimates for the new 11 Districts (LGD 2014)

Census population estimates for the new 11 Districts (LGD 2014) from both the 2001 Census and 2011 Census, including corresponding interactive maps, are now available on NINIS.

You can view the Census 2011 Usually Resident Population by four broad age bands and sex: CT0001NI datasetand interactive map , as well as the Census 2001 Usually Resident Population by four broad age bands and sex dataset and interactive map.

Further Census 2011 Detailed Characteristics for Northern Ireland to be released

Phase 4 of Census 2011 Detailed Characteristics will include Detailed Characteristics tables at lower geographies including Local Government Districts and Super Output Areas in Northern Ireland. The release will be published at 9.30am on 28 November 2013.

Lookup Tables

Lookup Tables available on NINIS

Lookup tables on NINIS can be found under the ‘Lookup Tables’ subset of the People and Places Theme. These include a best-fit lookup table for Small Area (SA), Census Output Area (OA) and Super Output Area (SOA) to the 11 New Districts.

New/Latest Year Data

In October, there were 4 new datasets added to NINIS. In addition, 28 datasets were updated with latest year including:

• Population Estimates: Broad Age Bands (addition of LGD 2014)
• Cancer Incidence
• Children in Poverty

During the month, 11 interactive maps were updated with latest year data and 11 new interactive maps were added including:

• New Dwelling Starts
• Cancer Incidence
• NI Housing Executive Migrant Housing
