Making Life Better – Assembly Area Profiles
You can now access a new Making Life Better Area profile providing information on the health and wellbeing of residents in each Assembly Area.
You can view the new profile by selecting a particular Assembly Area from the Area Profile map view, then clicking on the ‘Making Life Better’ tab.
Alternatively, you can enter a postcode into the NINIS search box, select the AA tab, followed by ‘Making Life Better’.
The next Census is due to take place in Spring 2021 and it will be predominantly online, supported and quality assured by administrative data.
NISRA held a topic consultation on the 2021 Census in Winter 2015 – the consultation document is available from
the NISRA Website.
All responses were made publically available in March 2016 and a final NISRA response to the consultation was published in
In summary the key issues from the consultation were:
- Overwhelming support for the Census
- Significant user demand for the topics in the 2011 Census including some new ones
- User demand for a better and more flexible output geography
NISRA are currently developing an operational plan for the 2021 Census and will consult with users on outputs closer to 2021.
Additional commissioned tables have been added to NINIS with 286 commissioned tables now available. Recent data include:

A reminder to our Twitter followers who might have noticed that @NISRA and @NISRANINIS accounts have merged. This streamlines the service and means there is now one central Twitter account for all new data releases, infographics and updates to our service.
