The Census collects information every 10 years about the characteristics of people and households in Northern Ireland. It is used by central and local government, health authorities and many other organisations to plan and provide future services for us all. The 2011 Census took place on 27 March 2011.
Due to the volume of census data that will be available the 2011 Census data will be released in 4 main stages. The first release of census data on NINIS took place on 19 September 2012; the latest information was published on 28 May 2014.
A list of all standard output tables from the 2011 Census in Northern Ireland is available. Footnotes and definitions to accompany these tables can be found in the Census 2011 Definitions and Output Classifications document.
Supporting documentation on the release of census data can be accessed on the NISRA Website.
